Yes I know this thread is a bit old, but I'll add some of my stuff into it.
First Robot wars "robots" are ROV's, BEAM robots are fully autonomous
robots. Second do you have any idea how much those robot wars competitors
cost, excuse my language, but they cost a sh*t load.
Their is a possibility that a BEAM robot could armored up, and if it survived
only a short while like 30 seconds against them, I would be ecstatic. That
is one of the harshest environments to be tested in. In fact I would bet that
if someone's bot could handle the tough blows it gets hit with, their "opponent"
would run out of power before the BEAM bot.
