Get out your jewelers gear :-)
Since I don't have much, I do this sort of thing as follows (though this
may not help you, but hopefully my understanding of the problem is close
enough that it will :)
Get your replacement wire, put the end down into the stump, with both
motor and wire held stationary together in "helping hands" clips. Get a
scalpel and shave some tiny fragments of solder off your solder reel,
use jewelers forceps (or nearest equivalent) to put (and pack) the
shavings into the stump hole where the new wire is to be soldered.
Get some pliers, a pin, and a rubber band. Put the pin in the pliers and
band around the handles. Use a butane pencil-torch (very useful things
to have) to heat the pin until it is red-hot, then apply it to the hole.
By the time the pin reaches the hole, it won't be red-hot, but still hot
enough to melt the solder all over the place, hopefully sealing a good
connection between the new wire and whatever the old one was connected
to.
You could probably use a candle instead of the torch, but a torch is
better.
Any help?
