Subject: [alt-beam] BEAM KIT PARTs, for SALE?
content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable
content-type: text/plain;
OK, awhile ago after some lively discussion I thought "Gee someone ought to=
provide all the parts nessesary to build things like walkers." I had inten=
ded to, but was dissuaded. However, after hearning a simmilar line of e-mai=
ls I've decided to try again.
So here's the big question, How many people would be interested in buying a=
small packet that contained ALL the parts nessesary to build a walking rob=
ot. Even down to the Batteries? No particular documentation would be includ=
ed since I don't want to particullary get into the more complicated aspects=
of providing 'kits'. In the future however, now that I'm a source for prin=
ted BEAM material. I don't see any complication with throwing in a BEAM boo=
klet on walkers. The intention of the packet would not be a 'kit'. It inste=
ad would simplify things by being a one stop source for all the parts neede=
d for a BEAM beast. Also I think for begginers, I'll offer inexpensive Mult=
imeters (since people are always overpaying for these things. Sure good one=
s are great, but cheap ones will do fine.) AND since they would only add a =
cost of about seven dollars, (and it would be optional) I can add a small R=
at Shack type breadboard, so that you would whip up the core one your own f=
irst. and get it working.
So, it would included EVERYTHING needed to make a complete two motor walkin=
g robot. And information would be provided, pointing twards the various sou=
rces on the web about how to build it. And perhaps in the future I would pr=
ovide such information.
Also since I realize not everyone needs all the parts, I would be open to i=
ndividuals substituting or eliminating parts from the kit. =
Any takers? If people are interested I'll post the info soon.
