A good European source of BEAM components is the German mail order
house Conrad, which has shops in many countries and now also sells
to overseas customers who order by email.

Amongst many other things they sell these solar panels:

Panasonic Sunceram

part nr nominal V unloaded V nominal current LxBmm approx. US$

19 65 76-33 1.8 3.45 16.4mA 24x33 $ 2.60
19 65 84-33 1.8 3.45 31.3mA 24x66 $ 4.70
19 66 06-33 3.2 5.52 41.7mA 37x82 $ 6.60
19 66 14-33 6.4 11.00 41.7mA 74x82 $ 12.60
19 66 22-33 16.0 26.00 35.0mA 163x73 $ 22.60

The first one is Panasonic nr. BP-243318, also sold by Solarbotics
(afaik) and ideal for small Solar Engine experiments.
The second one is Panasonic nr. BP-246618; here the catalog is in
error, because the panel combines 4 cells instead of five and thus
has an unloaded voltage of 2.76V, making it less suitable for most
Solar Engine applications.
The third one is Panasonic nr. BP-378234 as used by the
clock-powered Photovore on my Webpages. Very nice panel.

Some information about their very efficient geared motors
(about $10) can be found on

You can find Conrad on the Web at

Linkname: CONRAD - Internationale Filialen
URL: http://www.conrad.de/unter/c_filialen_i.html

That's not the main page, but it is the most informative one.

Best,

Steve
