I too wear that proud badge of heresy! It's a CPU right over my BEAM Badge! (:

I'm going to add a BASIC Stamp II on top of Quadrapod's controll hardware, which
includes a microcore, a routing circuit, and a controller board. I could have
ditched the controlelr board, since I'm adding the CPU, but i built it before I
ma the decision. It's still not final, but I'll be using a phone attached to a
walkiee talkie to send DTMF tones to the bot. There is a $26 DTMF decoder
circuit that outputs a 4 bit binary output to indicate which key was pressed.
I'll attach it to the BSII and it'll operate the PWM for the two servos that
control the head, and also send out the 5 walk commands (Stop, Go, Reverse,
Left, & Right). The BEAM stuff does the actual walking. I hope! It'd realy suck
for it to not work, but I've been throgh 4 revisions, followed every path, and
actualy built the PCBs. I now need to get chips for them and wire them together
with buttons, switches, LEDs, and a power supply. I want to try them out
immediately to find out if they are in good condition
