Subject: [alt-beam] 9 volt battery cutting
I've been pulling apart a 9volt battery but i don't quite get it
There are 7 of those little cells, so do i just cut in in two parts.
One of 4 and one of 3.
And i'd use the 4 cell part to make the required 5 volts right?
But also what is what - bottom negative, top possitive or the other
way around.
Do i just solder a wire to it or would that be 2 dangerous?
Thanks
p.s No it didn't blow up in my face :-)

type shapes? I don't even know how they would fit 7 cells into a regular
9V battery... the geometry isn't right. Every battery I have disassembled
has been one of two types: either there are 6 self contained cylindrical
1.5V batteries within it, or there are between 5 and 9 black carbon
lozenges stacked end to end. Obviously, the lozenge shapes are bad.
Nasty little things are usually coated in wax or something, not very
appealing. The kind you want look just like little batteries... I almost
always use Duracell brand, but I think there are other types that work.
