Subject: [alt-beam] Re: Photopopper
With some patientce an some pars switching you can get the dual pop to be more
than a rare orrurance. I have been experimenting with the "Photo Popper"
circuit for a while now with floppy drive motors and with pager motors and have
been able to reproduce the desired dual pop quite frequently. Tuning of the
pot is important once the rest of your circuit is "balanced". Try a variety of
values of cap in the 2.2uF position I am presently dual popping with 10 uF in
there. Also don't be afraid to try polarized electrolitic caps or some metal
film caps or some ceramic disc caps or some tantalum caps. I found that not
all photo diodes are not created equal so through experimenting I have found a
pair that seem to work well together. The bottom line is simple you can make
your robot do any thing (or your self for that matter) if you put in the time
and effort required. (Not to sound preachy but I'm the kid that all of the
teachers said would never amount to anything and gave up on in the Fourth grade
because I have Dislexia. I now hold TWO Degrees from Canada's Ivy league
Engineering and Math. Bottom line if you want it then do it Dual pop no
Problem Just requires the three P's of sucsess Patience Perserverance and
Patience)
