Hmmm. . . I'd say some basic tools. A temperature controlled
soldering station is nice for any electronics work, not just
'robotics.' Some small flush-cutting snips and needle-nose pliers
are really handy around the workbench. A recent thread would
suggest a fume extractor. . .
With tools, there are different approaches to suit different
temperments and levels of experience. If you buy high quality
tools they will be damaged if you mishandle them. If you buy
the very cheapest, low quality tools they may get damaged even
by using them correctly!
